Medical Director

DispatchHealth has set out to create the most advanced and complete in-home care model in the world. As an imperative leader toward that goal, the Medical Director – Advanced Care leverages clinical, quality, safety, and patient experience skills to lead an innovative team that is designing and implementing a novel program to deliver care to patient’s homes as an alternative to hospitalization. Reporting to the National Medical Director – Advanced Care the Medical Director works closely with the relevant market and national teams including clinical and operations leaders to develop and oversee the clinical delivery of Advanced Care.

Leadership

• Serves as a key clinical leader for the Tampa and Orlando Advanced Care markets
• Direct leadership and oversight of regional care teams
• Identifies and develops strategic priorities and action steps to support the success of the business
• Serves as the physician clinical liaison for the market Advanced Care teams to national Advanced Care team, other internal, and external stakeholders
• Clinical shifts to be split across all relevant markets to ensure that Medical Director is aware of local market needs and abilities to deliver care.
• Development and continuous enhancement in the development of a true “Learning Organization” that attracts, nurtures, and retains top talent
• Serve as a strategic partner for market growth strategy of the Advanced Care service line as the model expands
• Leverages public speaking, writing, education, and leadership skills to represent and promote Dispatch Health Advanced Care at regional venues

Clinical Duties

• The Medical Director will serve as a clinician medical director for the Tampa and Orlando markets
• Will provide daily clinical guidance and decision making as the attending Advanced Care physician for the Tampa and Orlando markets
• May be called on to provide direct, hospital-level and post-acute level internal medicine care to patients in their home on an ad hoc basis
• Leads the implementation of multidisciplinary plan of care for patients in Advanced Care Services for all patients while working clinically
• Will provide overnight call coverage as assigned and in collaboration with the Advanced Care market clinical team – very low volume
• Other duties as assigned

Other Administrative Duties

• Willingness to travel within the described geographic region (Tampa and Orlando)
• Other duties as assigned

• MD or DO
• Experience as a hospitalist physician
• Certification/Licensure in good standing in the State of Florida (by time of start date)
• Hospital Medicine Fellowship and/or advanced training/experience in hospital medicine
• Advanced experience and training in quality improvement and patient safety
• Experience in healthcare and complex-system leadership
• Credentialed through DispatchHealth (on hire)
• History and track-record of success in leadership roles
• Understanding of utilization management and payer partnerships
• Pass pre-employment background check
• ACLS Certified
