How You'll Make an Impact

The Accounts Payable Manager will be owning an Accounts Payable process and manage a team of two. In addition, this position will also be responsible for reviewing and improving AP related processes and work on implementation of new processes, AP and vendor reconciliations, working with the Accounting team on AP impact on financial statements, and assisting with the month-end close procedures. This position will report to the Accounting Manager. This will be a hybrid role and must be able to go to the office 2-4 times per month.

What You'll Do

  • Execute Accounts Payable processes accurately and within deadlines to ensure compliance with internal and external controls
  • Manage and monitor Accounts Payable department metrics.
  • Key contributor to the month-end Accounts Payable close, annual reporting, and the consistent improvement of the Accounts Payable department.
  • Research discrepancies and implement solutions related to vendor accounts
  • Compare vendor terms with activity periodically to ensure the most cost and time-effective methods and timing of payments are being used
  • Provide assistance concerning invoices and payments to other divisions, subsidiaries, and related companies as needed
  • Leading the implementation of new processes and software for Accounts Payable functions
  • Monitor and assist with proper coding and allocations of invoices
  • Lead the escheatment process
  • Assist with the reconciliation of the accounts payable ledger and aging report in accordance with GAAP
  • Assist with onboarding new subsidiaries when needed
  • Manage Accounts Payable team, including taking ownership of performance review, training, and staff development, coaching and mentoring

What You Need

  • Proven experience as an Accounts Payable manager or supervisor
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a corporate accounting environment preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience with Accounts Payable and an understanding of general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
  • Experience with Accounts Payable reconciliations
  • Experience with Escheatment/Unclaimed Property processes preferred
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle NetSuite ERP highly preferred
  • Experience working with multiple subsidiaries preferred
  • Strong MS Excel skills (including XLOOKUP’s, VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables & IF functions)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
